Facility

The Inner Space Center facility is connected to Internet2, which permits high bandwidth streams of video, audio, and data to flow into the facility where it is captured, displayed, and disseminated in real time.  The Mission Control room is based on the NASA model, where, for example, teams of scientists and engineers can communicate with astronauts in real time, and monitor the technical systems onboard the orbiting Space Shuttle or International Space Station.  For the ISC programs, the remote platforms are oceanographic ships and remotely operated vehicles systems that are exploring the depths of the world’s oceans.
